The Limone sul Garda cyclopedal path

The Cyclopedal Path of Limone, also known as the Limone sul Garda cycling path, is one of Italy’s most spectacular bike trails. Located in the picturesque town of Limone on the Brescia side of Lake Garda, it offers phenomenal views of the lake and surrounding mountains. Opened in 2018, the trail quickly gained fame for its unique sections suspended over the lake's crystal-clear waters—an unforgettable experience for walkers and cyclists alike.

Limone sul Garda, already renowned for its stunning landscapes, historic lemon houses and mild climate, is home to this extraordinary pedestrian and cycling path. Spanning approximately 2.5 kilometers, it’s part of a larger project to create a continuous cycling loop around Lake Garda.

What sets this path apart is its breathtaking suspended sections. Anchored to the mountainside with a sturdy metal structure, the trail provides uninterrupted views over the lake, making it truly unique.

The 2.5-meter-wide path is designed to safely accommodate both pedestrians and cyclists. Its non-slip surface ensures grip even in wet conditions and side barriers enhance user safety. Suitable for all ages and fitness levels, the path’s gentle gradient makes it accessible to families and casual visitors, as well as seasoned cyclists.

The path begins at Capo Reamol, a few kilometers north of Limone’s town center. Whether walking or cycling, visitors follow the lakeshore, enjoying spectacular views of Lake Garda and the surrounding mountains. While some sections briefly veer into the mountains, most of the trail is dramatically suspended above the lake’s waters.

The panoramic views are the trail’s highlight. Cyclists and walkers can admire Lake Garda’s shimmering blue waters and gaze across to the eastern shore. On sunny days, the lake’s surface reflects the light, creating a mesmerizing spectacle.

There are several ways to reach the Cyclopedal Path:

By Car: Drive along the Gardesana road to Limone sul Garda, where parking is available in the town center. From there, you can walk or cycle 3 kilometers north to Capo Reamol, the trail’s starting point.

By Boat: Take one of the ferries operating on Lake Garda, which connect Limone with towns like Riva del Garda, Malcesine and others along the lakeshore. Once in Limone, follow signs to the trailhead, easily reachable on foot or by bike.
