Famous for winter tourism, thanks to its ski slopes and snowy landscapes, it’s equally appealing in summer, with countless trails for hikes and outdoor adventures. Its strategic location—nestled in the mountains of Alta Valle Camonica—makes this village a year-round attraction.
Ponte di Legno is located at the northernmost point of Valle Camonica, on the border with Trentino-Alto Adige, at the foot of Passo del Tonale. Sitting at about 1,258 meters above sea level, it is surrounded by pristine mountain scenery. Its proximity to Stelvio National Park, one of Italy’s largest protected natural areas, makes it one of the most fascinating locations in the Italian Alps.
What makes Ponte di Legno particularly attractive is its blend of an ancient Alpine village’s charm with modern tourist facilities: cobblestone streets, stone and wooden houses, historic churches and stunning mountain views. At the same time, it offers top-notch tourist services, high-quality accommodations and countless activities. Ponte is a destination of choice for families, athletes and nature enthusiasts alike.

The Ponte di Legno-Tonale ski area is a favorite among skiers and snowboarders: it includes the Passo del Tonale, the Presena Glacier and the Temù-Ponte di Legno area, with slopes totaling 100 kilometers. All are interconnected via modern lifts and are suitable for beginners and expert skiers alike. The scenery is breathtaking and under favorable conditions, skiing is even possible in spring.
In addition to alpine skiing, snowboarding and cross-country skiing, visitors can enjoy snowshoeing on various marked trails that wind through forests and valleys. One of the most scenic routes leads to Passo del Tonale, offering incredible panoramic views of snow-covered peaks.
For those who aren’t fans of snow sports, the town offers other opportunities for relaxation and entertainment. Many visitors unwind in cozy thermal spas or hotel wellness centers after a day outdoors, indulging in rejuvenating treatments while enjoying stunning views of the surrounding mountains.
The Christmas atmosphere makes Ponte di Legno particularly magical during the festive season, with the town’s streets lit up and traditional Christmas markets in nearby villages drawing visitors from all over the region. Here, you can shop for local crafts, savor traditional sweets and experience the warm, welcoming ambiance of Italian mountain villages.
While winter is the season for snow sports, summer in Ponte di Legno is equally enchanting. As the snow melts, the mountains transform into a green paradise, perfect for hiking, walking and outdoor activities.
Trekking is one of the main attractions, with numerous well-marked trails starting in Ponte di Legno and leading to breathtaking views, alpine lakes and high-altitude huts.
